Andi & Gary's Engagement Session | Downtown Visalia, CA
Updated: Feb 11
When Andi first asked if I could head over to Downtown Visalia for Gary and her's engagement session, I was a bit nervous. I'd never been to Visalia, didn't do too many sessions with the "city" feel, and Andi was one of my favorite classmates in college―I needed to get these right.
We started at the Tulare County Public Library. While we couldn't go inside and get those cute, cozy shots in the corner or bookcases, we did find a gorgeous window.
Yes, there were some spiders. Andi put on a brave face & charged through anyway (or maybe she wasn't afraid at all?). Next up, we wanted to get some family pics and the entrance seemed like a beautiful spot.
This is one of my favorite photos from their session. I felt the genuine love and connection, and I was standing several feet away (gotta love cropping). Although the next location w went to was jaw-dropping.
This is exactly why I always recommend the last few hours of daylight for a session. It was just a street corner we found over by the library, but I saw the way the sun was hitting it and knew that would be the spot.
Once the sun dipped down, we were able to get some beautiful sweeping shots with the church across the street. It was initially super spotty with light, and I knew we wouldn't get the photos we wanted, so I bid my time and waited until just the right point in the session.
Needless to say, I had no need to be nervous. I've discovered a passion for Downtown Visalia and love the "city" feel!
