The Cangcos Family Session | Millerton Lake, CA
Goodbye spring, hello dry grass, pretty rocks, adventure sessions, and beautiful shoreline.
Summer in Fresno seems to be coming a bit earlier this year, and with it comes all the opportunity for the adventure sessions. I’ve got a few coming up in the next few months, from camping sessions to playing-in-the-lake water sessions.
This session really marked the start of summer photography season for me. When we pulled up to Millerton Lake for this beautiful family session, we were met with miles of golden fields and some rocky terrain just begging to be explored.
And explore we did.
We began in the golden fields. After getting some not-too-friendly dry grass caught up in our shoes, I shifted the family over to a small path a saw cutting through the grass.
The walking path provided the perfect bounce of light to accent their tones, while the sun gave them a gorgeous back-glow that lit up their faces. I definitely got a few favorites along this path.
In the attempt to reach the shore, we headed toward the rocket cliffside. In true family photographer style, I found the spot where the sun met the rock to create some of my favorite shots.
After capturing these, we continued to look for the shore. This beautiful family looked like they were straight out of an REI ad.
We eventually did find it, about 30 feet below where we were standing. Rather than make the jump, we finished out the session in back where the rocks met the golden field.
Summer, I'm ready for your sunsets.
If you want to wait a little bit longer for that Fresno heat, I'm okay with it.
